The Georgian Implementation Science Fogarty Training (GIFT) Summer Bootcamp 2025 has officially commenced at Ilia State University, bringing together public health professionals, researchers, clinicians, and graduate students for four days of intensive training in implementation science and biostatistics.
Organiსed by Ilia State University in partnership with Yale University and supported by the Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Bootcamp continues its mission of strengthening research capacity and implementation science expertise across low- and middle-income countries.
Registration for the Bootcamp opened on 7 July 2025, attracting 98 participants from nine countries: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Nigeria. Participants represent a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including academic faculty, public health professionals, PhD and Master’s students, researchers, and healthcare practitioners, creating a rich interdisciplinary learning environment.
Over the next four days, participants will complete 56 hours of training delivered through three parallel learning tracks: Implementation Science, Core Biostatistics, and Advanced Biostatistics. The program combines lectures, practical workshops, and interactive discussions designed to strengthen methodological skills and promote the translation of research evidence into public health practice.
This year’s Bootcamp features 26 distinguished speakers, including faculty from Yale University, Washington State University, the State University of New York, Ilia State University, and leading public health institutions in Georgia. Sessions will cover contemporary topics in implementation science, biostatistics, data analysis using R, dissemination and sustainability, as well as real-world case studies from HIV, hepatitis C, and other public health programs.
Participants who successfully attend at least three of the four training days will receive a GIFT Bootcamp certificate upon completion.
