GIFT PhD Scholars Continue Their Academic Journey at Yale University

As part of the Georgian Biostatistics in Implementation Science Fogarty Training Program (GIFT), Ilia State University is pleased to share that the current cohort of doctoral scholars is spending the Spring semester at Yale University as part of their international academic training experience. Following a successful Autumn semester completed online, the scholars have now continued their studies in person at Yale, where they are enrolled in selected courses that further strengthen their expertise in biostatistics, implementation science, and advanced public health research methods.

These PhD candidates were competitively selected based on their academic excellence, commitment to research, and strong potential to contribute to health systems strengthening in Georgia. Their current placement at Yale provides a unique opportunity to engage directly with world-class faculty, participate in an international academic environment, and expand their professional and scientific networks.

Through their doctoral studies and international training experience, the scholars are developing the knowledge and skills needed to address pressing public health challenges in Georgia and the wider region. Their work reflects the mission of GIFT: to build sustainable local research capacity and foster the next generation of leaders in implementation science and biostatistics.

We are proud to highlight their achievements and share moments from their stay at Yale University.
