On Global Health Day, held at Yale University, Dr. Peter Kilmarx, Deputy Director of the Fogarty International Center, met with emerging global health scholars and provided strategic insights on maximizing impact in research careers.
Tamari Mgebrishvili, a GIFT doctoral scholar from Ilia State University, presented her research focused on improving access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among key populations in Georgia. Her work highlights the program’s emphasis on evidence-informed interventions for local public health priorities.
Dr. Kilmarx offered guidance on research development and funding strategies, encouraging young scholars to align their careers with high-impact goals and global collaboration opportunities.
