The GIFT Summer Bootcamp 2025 successfully concluded after four days of intensive training, bringing together public health professionals, researchers, clinicians, and graduate students from Georgia and across the region. Organised by Ilia State University in collaboration with Yale University and supported by the Fogarty International Center, NIH, the Bootcamp continued its mission of strengthening regional capacity in implementation science and biostatistics.
The program featured parallel training tracks in Implementation Science, Core Biostatistics, and Advanced Biostatistics, providing participants with both foundational knowledge and advanced analytical skills. Interactive lectures, hands-on exercises, and practical discussions enabled participants to apply contemporary methods to real-world public health challenges.
An outstanding group of faculty from Yale University, Ilia State University, and leading national and international institutions shared their expertise throughout the Bootcamp. Sessions covered implementation science frameworks, study design, dissemination and sustainability, statistical methods for health research, longitudinal data analysis, and practical applications using R and RStudio.
A special highlight of this year’s Bootcamp was the series of real-world implementation case studies presented by national public health experts, demonstrating how implementation science principles are translated into practice in HIV, hepatitis C, and other public health programs.
The Bootcamp also provided valuable opportunities for networking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and discussions on future research partnerships among participants and faculty.
To promote access to high-quality educational resources, all presentation materials from the Bootcamp have been made freely available through the GIFT website, allowing researchers, students, and practitioners to benefit from the training beyond the event itself.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all speakers, faculty members, GIFT scholars, organizers, and participants whose enthusiasm and commitment made the GIFT Summer Bootcamp 2025 a great success.
