GIFT Summer Bootcamp 2026 Kicks Off in Tbilisi with Record International Participation

We are excited to announce that the GIFT Summer Bootcamp 2026 officially kicks off on July 21–24 at Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia, bringing together our largest and most international cohort yet.

This year’s bootcamp welcomes 179 participants from 16 countries, spanning Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, Pakistan and India. The cohort reflects the full breadth of the GIFT community, researchers and scientists, PhD and Master’s students, clinicians, public health practitioners, and faculty, coming together for four days of intensive, hands-on training.

Participants have enrolled across our three training tracks:

  • Implementation Science – 90 participants
  • Biostatistics Core – 67 participants
  • Biostatistics Advanced – 22 participants

As in previous years, participants will learn directly from Yale and Ilia State University faculty, engaging in case-based learning, practical statistical training in R, and hands-on implementation science frameworks designed to translate evidence into real-world practice.

We’re also proud to welcome back a strong contingent of returning participants, including several alumni of both the 2024 and 2025 bootcamps, a reflection of the lasting value the program continues to offer as participants advance in their research careers.

Over the coming days, participants will present their research, receive feedback from senior faculty and biostatisticians, and build professional connections that extend well beyond the bootcamp itself.

We look forward to a week of learning, collaboration, and scientific exchange, and to sharing highlights from the bootcamp as the week unfolds.
